WATER IS ENERGY - Technical information

Lötzbach:

The water of the Lötzbach comes from a 26 km² catchment area in the Lechtaler Alps. Total volume of water: 1,000 - 2,000 litres per second depending on time of year. 550 litres per second are used to produce electricity at the Zams power station.

Power station Zams:

The water experience climb demonstrates the entire water power process - from the water catchment stage to the turbines - as well as showing how water is mechanically and electrically transformed into energy.

The Zams power station was first opened in 1924 and therefore dates from the early days of water power in Tyrol.
